The terms, in plain English.

This is a beta version. It's short on purpose, so it gets read. When Cyrcle leaves beta this page will be reviewed by a lawyer; until then, this is what applies.

1. What Cyrcle is, and what it isn't

Cyrcle is a platform that connects people who want to send an item with people who are already making a trip to the same place. Cyrcle is not a carrier, not a postal operator and not a customs agent. It doesn't touch items, store them or inspect them. The traveller carries; the sender sends. Cyrcle makes the match, holds the payment and records the delivery.

2. What the sender promises

That the contents are legal in the origin country, any transit country and the destination country.
That they described the contents and value truthfully, and hand the item over open for the carrier to see.
That they send nothing from the list of what never goes (cash, controlled substances, medicines without a prescription in the recipient's name, liquids and batteries beyond safety limits, animals, plants, fresh food, sealed parcels).
That they own the item or have the owner's permission.

3. What the carrier promises

That they see the contents before accepting, and refuse anything that doesn't match the description or that they don't want to carry.
That they follow the transport's safety rules and the route's customs rules, including declaring whatever must be declared.
That they deliver the item to the recipient in the condition they received it, and ask for the delivery code.

4. Payment, holding and refunds

The sender pays when publishing the request: the reward, Cyrcle's fee (15 % of the reward) and delivery protection (€1.90). Cyrcle holds the reward until the delivery code and pays it to the carrier in full. If no carrier accepts by the deadline, Cyrcle refunds the total. If the item isn't delivered, Cyrcle refunds the total and covers the declared value up to €150 per shipment during the beta. Payments are processed by Stripe; Cyrcle never sees or stores card data.

5. What Cyrcle may do

Refuse or remove requests and trips that breach these terms or the law.
Ask senders and carriers for identity verification, and suspend unverified accounts.
Share data with authorities when the law requires it.

6. Liability

Cyrcle is responsible for what Cyrcle does: the match, holding the payment, recording the delivery, and the cover in section 4. It is not responsible for transport delays, customs decisions, or damage resulting from a false description of the contents. Nothing here limits consumer rights under Portuguese and EU law that cannot be limited.

7. Law and jurisdiction

Portuguese law. For anything not resolved by email (ola@cyrcle.pt), the courts of Lisbon. Consumers may use the electronic Livro de Reclamações and consumer arbitration centres.
